  1. Communication skills play a crucial role in modern workplaces.
  2. The next 24 hours will be crucial for the patient's recovery.
  3. Sleep is crucial for memory consolidation — without it, learning suffers.
  4. It is crucial that governments act now to address climate change.
  5. Reading widely is important, but practising writing is crucial for IELTS success.

Brushing your teeth is crucial. ← 過頭(important 就好) Oxygen is crucial for survival.

另一個錯——it is crucial that + 子句 的時態:

It is crucial that she goes there. It is crucial that she go there.

Band 7

  • vital——Sleep is vital for cognitive function.
  • essential——Practice is essential to mastering a language.

Drinking water is ___ for survival. (crucial / vital / essential 都對,因為真的少了會死) Time management is ___ for students.
