一句話用法：學術數據、研究結果用 demonstrate；具體動作、實物展示用 show。
意思差異
- show = 給某人看；展示
- demonstrate = 透過證據/論述清楚證明（更正式、更學術）
兩個都翻「顯示」，但搭配的對象完全不同。
自然用法
demonstrate + 抽象結論/數據：
- The graph demonstrates a clear correlation between income and life expectancy.
- Recent studies have demonstrated the benefits of early bilingual education.
- His essay demonstrates an excellent grasp of the topic.
show + 具體動作/實物（也可以接數據，但更口語）：
- Could you show me how to use this app?
- The chart shows that sales peaked in July. （Task 1 標準用法）
Task 1 描述圖表時 show 完全沒問題——demonstrate 反而過頭。
學生常犯的錯
把 demonstrate 當作 show 的萬用替換：
He demonstrated me the way to the station. ← 錯（這是「指路」，用 show） The pie chart demonstrates how energy is consumed. ← 怪怪的（Task 1 用 shows / illustrates 更自然）
口訣：demonstrate 後面接的應該是「結論、原則、能力」，不是「物品、地點、人」。
Band 7 同義替換
寫 Task 2 時，輪流用：
- illustrate——This example illustrates the danger of...
- highlight——The data highlights a worrying trend.
三個字輪流用，避免 demonstrate 在一篇文章重複五次。
