但考生反覆寫 then... then... then...
Subsequently (adv.) — after a particular event or point in time; later on, in a formal or written context.
- The proposal was rejected and subsequently revised by a smaller working group.
- Bricks are first moulded and then fired; the cooled bricks are subsequently stacked for transport.
- She joined the firm in 2010 and was subsequently promoted to director.
- Initial trials showed promise; subsequently, the drug was approved for wider use.
- The library was destroyed in the war and was subsequently rebuilt with international funding.
(Subsequently, the policy was scrapped.) (The policy was subsequently scrapped.)。
Register 注意:Speaking 用 subsequently 略生硬——閒聊中用 then / after that / later on 即可;Writing 才換成 subsequently。
(Band 7+)
- Thereafter — He left in 1995; thereafter, the firm declined rapidly.(更正式)
- Later — The committee later reversed its decision.(更中性)
