Welcome, everyone, to your first day at Bramley Square Farmers Market. My name's Harriet, and I'm the market manager. I'll run through the practical points so you can hit the ground running on Saturday.
Let's start with trading hours. The market opens to the public at nine a.m. on Saturdays. You — as stallholders — must be on site, set up, by eight thirty. That's a thirty-minute setup buffer. Trading ends at two p.m., and your stall must be packed away by three. Anyone arriving later than eight forty-five will be turned away — please plan accordingly.
Now, fees. There are three pitch sizes. A standard three-metre pitch is fifteen pounds per market. A double — six metres — is twenty-five. Corner pitches, which catch more footfall, are an extra five pounds on either size. Pay in cash to me at setup, or by bank transfer the Friday before. We don't accept card on the day.
A few words on the layout. The square is divided into four zones, arranged around the central fountain. Zone A, on the north side closest to the church, is reserved for fresh produce — vegetables, fruit, eggs. Zone B, on the east, is bakery and dairy — bread, cheeses, milk products. Zone C, south, is prepared foods — pies, jams, sauces, ready-to-eat items. And Zone D, west, is non-food — crafts, candles, soap, that kind of thing. Please trade only in your assigned zone.
Now, on vehicles and parking. You may drive into the square only between seven thirty and eight thirty for unloading. After eight thirty, no vehicles in the square — you must move to the public car park on Mill Lane, which is free for stallholders if you display your trader pass on the dashboard. The pass is in your welcome pack.
A few rules on what you can sell. All food must be either grown or made by you, or by another producer within fifty miles. Resold supermarket goods are strictly prohibited. We do random checks. Allergen labelling on prepared foods is your legal responsibility — pre-printed cards are available from me if you need a template.
Weather. We trade rain or shine. The square has no awnings, so you must bring your own gazebo, weighted at all four corners. In high winds — over thirty miles per hour forecast — we may cancel; you'll get a text by six a.m. on Saturday morning. We've cancelled three times in the last two years.
A note on community. We run a swap-and-share scheme — at the end of the day, unsold produce can be donated to the food bank's collection point at Zone A. Many of our long-standing traders also help newcomers — don't be shy to ask.
Finally, upcoming dates. We run weekly except for two breaks: the last weekend of December for Christmas, and the second weekend of August for the village fete, which takes over the square. We also have a special evening market on the third Friday of June — applications open in April.
Any questions, find me by the fountain. Welcome aboard.

Answer Key with Trap Analysis
| # | Answer | Key moment in transcript | 陷阱 / 注意 | |---|---------------------|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|----------------------------------------------------------------------| | 1 | 8:30 / eight thirty | "You — as stallholders — must be on site, set up, by eight thirty" | 干擾:9 a.m. 是公開時間、8:45 是 turned away cutoff、3 p.m. 是收攤。 | | 2 | 15 | "A standard three-metre pitch is fifteen pounds per market" | 不要與 £25(double)或 £5(corner 加價)混淆。 | | 3 | 5 / five | "Corner pitches... an extra five pounds" | 直述。 | | 4 | 8:30 / eight thirty | "You may drive into the square only between seven thirty and eight thirty" | 寫結束時間。 | | 5 | 50 / fifty | "another producer within fifty miles" | 直述距離。 | | 6 | B | "Zone A, on the north side... is reserved for fresh produce" | 直述。 | | 7 | A | "Zone B, on the east, is bakery and dairy" | 直述。 | | 8 | C | "Zone C, south, is prepared foods" | 直述。 | | 9 | B | "In high winds — over thirty miles per hour forecast — we may cancel" | 抓 over thirty mph。 | | 10| A | "except for two breaks: the last weekend of December... and the second weekend of August" | B 是新增的特別場、C 沒提。 |
We run weekly except for two breaks。聽到 except 後面接的就是「不營業」答案。
- 第 9 題的方向性介系詞:over thirty miles per hour = above 30 mph,正好對應選項 B。**抓 over / above / more than 與數字的搭配**。
