Hello everyone, and welcome to Blackmoor Nature Reserve. My name's David, I'm the senior ranger, and I'll give you a quick orientation before you set off on your own.
The reserve covers around four hundred hectares, so do take one of our pocket maps from the kiosk — they're free, though a pound donation keeps the printer running.
We have three colour-coded walking trails. Let me run through each.
The Red Trail is the shortest — two kilometres, mostly flat, suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. It loops through the beech woodland and is our best recommendation if you're short on time or with young children.
The Blue Trail is longer — five kilometres, with a few moderate inclines. Its highlight is the heather meadow, which flowers from late July through August — so you're just catching the end of it now. The Blue Trail also takes you past our dragonfly pond.
And the Green Trail — this is the most demanding, nine kilometres, including a steep climb to the viewpoint. On a clear day you can see all the way to the coast. The Green Trail is also the only one that takes you past the old lime kilns, which are Grade II listed. Please don't climb on them — they're fragile.
Now, some things you might like to see:
The bird hide, on the edge of the wetland, is reached by a short boardwalk off the Red Trail. Best viewing is in the early morning, before about nine a.m. — after that the birds tend to move to quieter areas deeper in the reserve.
The butterfly garden is near the visitor centre and is open all day, but the butterflies are most active between eleven and two, when the sun's at its strongest.
The badger sett — well, badgers are nocturnal, so you won't see them during the day, but we do run guided evening walks every Friday from May to September. Booking essential.
A few rules before you go. Dogs on leads only, and not at all on the Blue Trail, as it runs through ground-nesting bird habitat. No picnics within the wetland area — mainly to protect water voles. And please, no drones: they're strictly forbidden across the entire reserve.
Oh — and one more thing. Please carry your rubbish out with you. We removed our bins last year; they were attracting rats, and a bin-free reserve keeps the wildlife healthier.
Enjoy your visit, and if you spot anything unusual, do report it at the kiosk when you return.

Answer Key with Trap Analysis
| # | Answer | Key moment in transcript | 陷阱 / 注意 | |---|---------------|------------------------------------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 1 | B | "suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs" (Red Trail) | wheelchairs = B. 同義直接配。 | | 2 | E | "Its highlight is the heather meadow, which flowers from late July" (Blue Trail) | 關鍵 heather = E. 不要選 D (closed winter)——錄音沒說關閉。 | | 3 | C | "the only one that takes you past the old lime kilns, which are Grade II listed" (Green Trail) | Grade II listed = protected historical site. | | 4 | A | "Best viewing is in the early morning, before about nine a.m." A. | | 5 | F | "butterflies are most active between eleven and two" (butterfly garden) | 中午時段 = middle of the day = F. | | 6 | 9 / nine | "nine kilometres, including a steep climb" | 不要被 2 (Red) 或 5 (Blue) 干擾。 | | 7 | coast | "you can see all the way to the coast" | 單字答案。 | | 8 | Blue | "not at all on the Blue Trail, as it runs through ground-nesting bird habitat" | 注意 not at all — 完全禁止,不是 on leads only。 | | 9 | drones | "no drones: they're strictly forbidden across the entire reserve" | 不要寫 dogs 或 picnics(只是部分區域限制)。 | | 10| rats | "they were attracting rats" | 簡答一字,不要寫 wildlife。 |
- 第 8 題必須聽到「not at all」:錄音先說 dogs on leads only — 如果漏掉「and not at all on the Blue Trail」會以為全部 trail 都只是拉繩。
