感謝信典型 bullet 結構

  1. say what you are thanking them for — 具體感謝什麼（不要籠統）
  2. explain why it meant a lot to you — 為什麼重要（情感層次）
  3. say what your plans are now — 你接下來要做什麼

bullet 2 最容易被簡化成「Thank you so much, I really appreciate it」這種空話。Band 7+ 寫 bullet 2 要連結到具體後果：因為你的 reference letter，我才被錄取/我才有勇氣換工作/我才能撐過那段時間。

台灣考生感謝信常見錯誤

錯誤 1：感謝過於籠統

Thank you for everything, you helped me a lot, you are the best teacher — 全是空話、零內容。改成具體事件：especially for the time you took every Friday afternoon to review my work。

錯誤 2：把 bullet 2 寫成 bullet 1 的同義反覆

bullet 1 已說「謝謝您的支持」、bullet 2 又寫「我很感謝您的支持」——examiner 看到重複論點扣分。Bullet 2 必須深一層：那個支持改變了你什麼能力 / 什麼觀念 / 什麼選擇。

錯誤 3：bullet 3 寫成「希望您身體健康萬事如意」

中文書信慣用語直譯失敗。Bullet 3 是你的計畫——告訴對方你接下來要做什麼，這才是延續關係的合理收尾。

錯誤 4：過度誇張

You changed my life forever, I owe you everything I am — 太重。Semi-formal 感謝信的最高情感等級是 I will never forget that...，不要再往上飆。
