IELTS Task 1 Academic 評分標準有一條寫得很白：
No overview = maximum Band 5.5.
Overall 句漏了 = 自動 5.5。但寫了 = 就過關嗎？不是。大部分考生的 Overall 其實寫錯了。
Overall 是什麼
不是：上一段的總結。
是：整張圖的最 big picture 的 1-2 個 trend——讀者只看這句就知道整張圖在講什麼。
錯誤 vs 正確
❌ 學生版（Band 5.5）
Overall, the line graph shows the number of tourists in Spain from 1990 to 2020.
問題：這只是 paraphrase 題目的改寫。沒有任何 big picture。
✅ Band 7 版
Overall, tourist numbers rose substantially over the thirty-year period, with domestic visitors consistently outnumbering foreign ones until the final decade.
差別：有趨勢（rose substantially）+ 比較（domestic outnumbering foreign）。
兩個萬用 Overall 模板
模板 1（時間趨勢題 = line graph / multi-year table）
Overall, [main metric] [rose / fell / fluctuated / remained stable] [substantially / marginally] over the period, with [category A] [consistently leading / overtaking / declining relative to] [category B].
模板 2（比較題 = bar chart / pie chart）
Overall, [category X] [accounted for the largest share / ranked highest] across all groups, while [category Y] was [consistently the lowest / least common], with clear [age / gender / regional] contrasts between the two extremes.
什麼時候放 Overall
放在第 1 段最後——paraphrase 之後、details 之前。

句 1: Paraphrase 題目
句 2: Overall...
§2: Details group A
§3: Details group B不要放在最後一段當結論——Task 1 沒有結論段。

- 這句單獨讀能告訴讀者整張圖 80% 內容嗎？
- 能 → ✓ - 不能 → 重寫
