這些都是 comma splice——兩個獨立子句只用逗號連接。中文念起來超自然（就像「下雨了，我們在家」）——但英文文法上跟 run-on sentence 一樣被扣分。

Comma splice vs Run-on 的差別

兩個都錯，扣分一樣。 唯一的差別是 comma splice 表面有標點，所以更難自己發現。

為什麼是 Taiwanese 特有錯誤

中文的逗號極度寬鬆——可以連很多子句。學生憑中文感覺寫英文：感覺有停頓就打逗號。結果每篇作文裡藏 5-8 個 comma splice，自己不察。

四種修正法

法 1：換句號

❌ It was raining, we stayed home. ✅ It was raining. We stayed home.

最安全但最生硬。適合 Band 6。

法 2：加對等連接詞 (FANBOYS)

FANBOYS: For / And / Nor / But / Or / Yet / So

✅ It was raining, so we stayed home. ✅ She is intelligent, and she is also kind.

注意：FANBOYS 之前的逗號必要。

法 3：換分號

✅ It was raining; we stayed home.

兩個子句語意相關——用分號。Band 7 的記號。

法 4：加從屬連接詞

✅ Because it was raining, we stayed home. ✅ Since she is intelligent and kind, everyone likes her.

最高段——升級到 Band 7+。

每看到一個逗號——問自己：

  1. 逗號左邊是不是完整句？（有主詞+動詞、可獨立成句）
  2. 逗號右邊是不是完整句？
  3. 如果兩邊都是——而且中間沒有 and/but/so/or 等連接詞——就是 comma splice。

例子分析

**❌ *It was raining, we stayed home.***

  • 左：It was raining. ✓ 完整
  • 右：We stayed home. ✓ 完整
  • 中間：只有逗號，沒連接詞
  • → comma splice ✗

**✅ *Although it was raining, we stayed home.***

  • 左：Although it was raining — 加了 Although 就不完整（從屬子句）
  • 右：we stayed home. 完整
  • → 合法：從屬子句 + 主句

寫作後的一個檢查

寫完 Task 2 後——只找逗號。每找到一個，手指蓋住「and / but / so / or / yet」以外的連接詞，問：「逗號兩邊各自能單獨成句嗎？」

如果答案是「能」——就是 comma splice，挑一個修正法修掉。

一篇 Task 2 抓掉 3 個 comma splice — Grammar 從 6.5 升到 7。
