中文的逗號是萬用分隔符。看這句：

他很累，他還是來了，大家很感動。

完全合法的中文。但英文直譯：

❌ He was tired, he still came, everyone was moved.

這是 run-on sentence。直接扣 Grammar 到 6.0。

為什麼是 Taiwanese 特有錯誤

中文沒有強制的「句子結尾」概念——逗號可以接到底，最後才句號。英文每個獨立子句（有主詞 + 動詞、可獨立成句的結構）之間必須用：

  1. 句號 (.)
  2. 分號 (;)
  3. 連接詞 (and / but / so / because)
  4. 從屬連接詞 (although / when / if)

怎麼判斷 run-on

三秒測試

把句子用逗號切開，每一段單獨念——如果每段都是完整的句子（主詞 + 動詞），又只用逗號連——就是 run-on。

He was tired, he still came, everyone was moved. 切：He was tired. ✓ 完整 切：He still came. ✓ 完整 切：Everyone was moved. ✓ 完整 → 三個完整句只用逗號連 → run-on ✗

三種修正法

法 1：加句號（最簡單）

✅ He was tired. He still came. Everyone was moved.

IELTS Band 6 寫法——對，但沒變化。

法 2：加連接詞

✅ He was tired, but he still came, and everyone was moved.

Band 6.5 寫法——對，但 and/but 太多。

法 3：從屬子句（Band 7 推薦）

✅ Although he was tired, he still came, which moved everyone.

Band 7 寫法——結構有層次，examiner 加分。

檢查寫作的一個動作

把作文印出來，每個逗號圈起來。每個圈問一次：「逗號左右兩邊都能獨立成句嗎？」如果答案「是」——要麼改句號、要麼加連接詞。

用從屬子句升 Band

把兩個獨立句合成一個，常用的從屬連接詞：
