「想學什麼語言」題最容易崩潰——I want to learn English because it is useful.
Describe a foreign language you would like to learn (other than English).
You should say:
- what language it is
- why you want to learn it
- how you would learn it
and explain how you think it would benefit you.
You will have to talk about the topic for 1 to 2 minutes.
A friend of mine who moved to Madrid for work last year
Since my last trip to Barcelona three summers ago
Spanish
- E — 感覺?Drawn to it, a bit intimidated by the grammar
Three layers: travel, cinema, and a kind of identity I'd like to try on
¹ If I could pick any foreign language to learn — apart from English, obviously — I'd go with Spanish, without much hesitation. ² It's been on my mind since a trip to Barcelona three summers ago, and the urge has grown rather than faded.
³ There are probably three reasons I'm drawn to it. ⁴ First, the practical one: Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world by native speakers, and a close friend of mine moved to Madrid for work last year, which has given me a very concrete reason to want to visit and actually understand what's happening around me. ⁵ Second, there's a cultural pull. ⁶ I've fallen into a bit of a Spanish-cinema phase recently — directors like Almodóvar — and subtitles only take you so far; you miss the rhythm, the jokes, the way people interrupt each other.
⁷ But the deepest reason is probably harder to articulate. ⁸ Mandarin, my mother tongue, is quite compact and understated, and I sometimes feel that my personality in Mandarin is a slightly quieter version of who I could be. ⁹ Spanish, from what I've observed, seems to encourage a warmer, more expressive way of speaking — and part of me wants to see whether a different language would let a different side of me come out.
¹⁰ As for how I'd learn it, I'd probably start with a language app like Duolingo for vocabulary, then join a small conversation class once I'd built a basic foundation. ¹¹ Immersion would be the real goal though: ideally, a couple of weeks staying with my friend in Madrid, where getting a coffee or buying bread requires actually speaking the language, not just understanding it. ¹² That's when a language really starts to feel like yours — when you've used it to solve an everyday problem and didn't translate anything in your head.

(First... Second... But the deepest reason),收尾扣回「怎麼學」完整回應題卡四個 bullet。
- Lexical Resource:drawn to it, articulate, mother tongue, compact, understated, immersion —
(If I could pick... I'd go with)、比較級(warmer, more expressive, grown rather than faded)、關係子句(where getting a coffee requires actually speaking)。
