科技題是 Part 3 的萬用主題——考官常把原本的 Part 2 Cue card 用科技的角度重新 framing。典型風險:考生答得太淺,像在寫行銷文案("Technology makes life easier and faster.")。Band 7 的科技題必須出現 trade-off 思維

科技 Part 3 的四種切入角度

| 角度 | 題目範例 | |------|----------| | 日常影響 | How has the smartphone changed daily life? | | 世代差異 | Are older people disadvantaged by new technology? | | 心理健康 | Does social media make people lonelier? | | 社會結構 | Will AI replace many jobs in the coming years? |

5 題代表題 + Band 7+ 範例

Q1. How has the smartphone changed everyday life?

I'd say the smartphone has done something no previous technology has — it has made being unreachable almost impossible. Generally speaking, that's a gain for convenience and connection. On the other hand, it has arguably eroded things we didn't realise were valuable, like boredom and daydreaming, which is where a lot of creativity used to happen.

Q2. Are older people left behind by new technology?

It tends to depend on the design, honestly. Some older relatives I know handle video calls perfectly well; others struggle because the interface assumes a lot. I'd argue the real issue isn't age but how much time you're given to adapt — and in many societies, essential services are going digital faster than training can keep up, which leaves a real gap.

Q3. Does social media make people lonelier?

Arguably yes, at least in aggregate. Research generally points to a correlation between heavy use and reported loneliness, especially in teenagers. That said, I wouldn't want to overstate it — for someone geographically isolated, or part of a small community, social media can be a lifeline. So on the whole I'd say it amplifies whatever situation you're already in.

Q4. Will AI replace a lot of jobs?

I'd say it depends on the job. Routine knowledge work — things like basic translation, first-draft copywriting, simple legal research — is clearly vulnerable. Jobs involving physical dexterity or genuine human judgment will probably hold up longer. That said, historically, technology displaces specific tasks rather than entire professions, so the bigger story is probably reshaping rather than wholesale replacement.

Q5. Should children be given smartphones at a young age?

Honestly, I'm torn. There's a case for early familiarity — the digital world is where work and social life are moving. But there's increasing evidence that heavy screen use in early childhood affects attention and sleep. On the whole I'd say the current consensus — delaying personal smartphones until at least early secondary school — is sensible, even if it feels old-fashioned.

台灣考生常見陷阱:表層讚美

台灣考生看到科技題,直覺是講「科技很方便」「生活更好」——這是廣告詞,不是討論。Band 7 的科技題必須同時看到好處與代價

修正:固定用 "generally a gain, but arguably..." 句型:

Smartphones are generally a gain for convenience and access to information. Arguably, though, they have displaced quieter activities — reading, daydreaming, simply being bored — that turn out to matter more than we realised.

On the other hand, it's worth noting that earlier generations said the same thing about television, and we adapted. So the concern is real, but not necessarily catastrophic.

同時講好壞 + 用 on the other hand 回到中立評估 = 7+。
