Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to complain about a washing machine that I purchased from your Kaohsiung branch on the 15th of March. Unfortunately, the appliance has developed a serious fault, and I would like to request a resolution.
The machine, a Panasonic NA-F90 model, stopped working entirely after only three weeks of light use. On switching it on, it now produces a loud buzzing noise and displays an error code that does not appear in the manual. As it is a heavy item, I cannot return it to the shop myself.
I would be most grateful if you could arrange for a technician to inspect the machine at my home, or alternatively, provide a full refund since the appliance is clearly faulty.

範文 2 — Semi-formal（請假）
題目：You cannot attend your English class next month. Write to your teacher.

Dear Mr Thompson,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to let you know that I will unfortunately be unable to attend our English classes throughout June, and to apologise in advance for my absence.
My family and I will be travelling to Japan for my grandmother's 80th birthday celebration, and we will be away from the 3rd of June until the 27th. I am very sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, particularly as we have important exam preparation coming up.
Would it be possible for you to send me the weekly handouts and reading lists by email while I am away? I am happy to complete the assignments remotely and hand them in on my return. I would also be grateful for any suggestions on how I can catch up on the speaking practice I will miss.

範文 3 — Informal（給朋友）
題目：Your friend is visiting your country for the first time. Write to him/her.

Hi Emma,
I was so excited to hear that you're finally coming to Taiwan — I can't wait to show you around! I've been thinking about your trip and I've got loads of ideas.
The best time to come is probably October or November. Summers here are seriously hot and humid (you'd melt!), but autumn is perfect — clear skies, about 22 degrees, and the food night markets are at their best. Don't come in July whatever you do!
I really want to take you up to Jiufen — it's this old gold-mining town on the hillside with narrow alleys, tea houses, and the view over the Pacific is unbelievable at sunset. We'll eat our way through the street food and then stay over in a little B&B.
One tip — bring an umbrella (even in autumn it rains suddenly), comfortable walking shoes, and loose clothes. Oh, and leave space in your suitcase for snacks to take home!

三個常見災難
災難 1：語氣混搭
寫給 manager 卻加 I can't wait! — 自動 5.5。判斷語氣後 150 字內不要換。
災難 2：漏 bullet
最常發生在第三個 bullet — 孩子寫到字數夠了就收尾。寫前在題目紙上各 bullet 打個圈，寫完一個畫勾。
災難 3：結尾語用錯
Formal：
- 開頭 Dear Sir/Madam → 結尾 Yours faithfully
- 開頭 Dear Mr Chen → 結尾 Yours sincerely
混用 = 扣分。
