IELTS 2 號劍橋批改員最常圈的錯誤不是文法，不是拼字——是漏冠詞。台灣學生寫的 250 字作文裡，平均漏 8-12 個冠詞。

為什麼是 Taiwanese 特有錯誤

中文「我去學校」不需要冠詞。但英文要判斷三選一：

  • I went to a school.（某間學校，聽者不知哪間）
  • I went to the school.（某間特定學校，雙方都知道）
  • I went to school.（活動意義——去上學）

三個意思不同。不能隨意省略。

步驟 1: 可數 or 不可數？

三個必背規則

規則 1：世界唯一 → the

the sun, the moon, the earth, the internet, the sky, the president（當下任）

規則 2：第二次提到 → the

A man walked into a shop. The man bought a newspaper. The shop was empty.

第一次 a，第二次 the——規則沒例外。

規則 3：最高級 / 序數 → the

the best, the first, the most important, the only——永遠加 the。

寫完後只掃名詞。每遇一個名詞問自己：

  1. 可數單數？→ 不是 a 就是 the，不能裸奔
  2. 可數複數？→ 特指就 the，泛指就 zero
  3. 不可數？→ 通常 zero，特指才 the
