Speaking 考官在評 Pronunciation 時，最快判斷 Band 6 跟 Band 7 的方式之一是：同形名詞 / 動詞的重音分得清楚嗎？台灣學生九成習慣把 present、record、object 一律念第一音節——結果 I want to PREsent my idea 考官聽起來像「我想要禮物我的點子」。

為什麼是 Taiwanese 特有錯誤

中文是聲調語言，不是重音語言。學生學單字時記「拼字」跟「意思」，從來不記重音——結果所有音節念一樣大聲，或固定重第一音節。

規則：名詞 / 形容詞重前，動詞重後

大部分同形字遵守這條規律：

Task 1 常犯錯誤

Academic Task 1 講圖表時：

  • The INcrease was significant.（名詞→前重）
  • Sales inCREASED by 20%.（動詞→後重）

兩個一起寫的一句話：

The CHART shows a sharp inCREASE in the INcrease rate of exPORTS.

真的會繞口——但考 Speaking Part 3 描述趨勢時，重音對了就是 Pronunciation Band 7 標配。
