I like watching movies. My favourite is Avengers.
- 把 film(電影)跟 movie(美式英語的電影)跟 TV show(影集)混用——選一套用法用到底。
Q1. Do you like watching films?
Genuinely yes, although my taste has shifted a bit over the years — I used to be all about big blockbusters at the cinema, but these days I gravitate towards slower, character-driven stuff I can put on at home. A good Korean thriller or a quirky indie film usually beats a two-and-a-half-hour superhero film for me now.
Q2. Do you prefer watching films at the cinema or at home?
Mostly at home, to be honest — Netflix and a decent sofa beat a sticky cinema seat most evenings. That said, there's still something about a proper cinema experience for the right film: a big sci-fi epic, or anything with serious sound design. I just wouldn't pay to see a romantic comedy on a giant screen any more.
Q3. Have you ever watched a film in another language?
Quite a few, actually — Korean and Japanese films are practically standard viewing in Taiwan, usually subtitled rather than dubbed. I've also worked through a fair amount of Spanish-language stuff on Netflix, things like Money Heist. Watching in another language somehow makes the story feel more atmospheric, even if you're reading the subtitles half the time.
Q4. What kind of TV shows do you watch?
A real mix — I've got a long-running addiction to Korean dramas, which are basically comfort food at this point, but I'll also dip into prestige American stuff like Succession when I'm in the mood for something more demanding. Documentaries are another weakness; nature ones especially, because they make me feel productive even though I'm sitting on the sofa.
Q5. Do you think watching TV is a waste of time?
Not by default, no — it depends entirely on what you're watching and how much. An hour of a well-written drama can genuinely teach you something about people, almost like reading fiction. Five hours of mindless reality TV is a different question. I try to keep mine in the first category, although I don't always succeed.

Band 6 vs Band 7+ 對照
題目:Do you prefer watching films at the cinema or at home?
Band 6: I prefer watching at home. Because it is more comfortable. And the cinema is expensive.
Band 7+: Mostly at home — Netflix and a decent sofa beat a sticky cinema seat most evenings. That said, there's still something about a proper cinema experience for the right film: a big sci-fi epic, or anything with serious sound design. I just wouldn't pay to see a romantic comedy on a giant screen any more.
My favourite movie is Avengers."
- **混淆 *film / movie / show / drama***:英式 film、美式 movie、影集 TV show / series、韓劇 K-drama——選一套,別混。
- **罐頭 *Movies can relax me***:這句考官天天聽。 A good film genuinely takes me out of my own head for two hours."
