Do you like coffee?" → "Yes, I do."

Step 1 — Answer (直接回答)
Step 2 — Reason (為什麼 / 什麼時候 / 怎麼)
Step 3 — Example (具體的人、事、物、時間)

1 — "Do you like coffee?"

Step 1: Yeah, I'm actually a bit obsessed with coffee. Step 2: Mostly because it became part of my morning routine during university — it's how I wake up properly. Step 3: These days I'll usually have a flat white at the café near my office, and I've even started making pour-over at home on weekends.

題目 2 — "Do you read books?"

Step 1: Honestly, not as much as I'd like to. Step 2: Work takes up most of my energy, and by evening I'd rather watch something on Netflix than concentrate on a book. Step 3: That said, I did finish one on a flight to Tokyo last year — a detective novel, and I couldn't put it down.

題目 3 — "Do you prefer online shopping or physical stores?"

Step 1: For most things, online — without question. Step 2: It's just faster and the prices are usually better, especially on platforms like Shopee or Momo here in Taiwan. Step 3: But for clothes I still prefer physical stores — I tried ordering shoes online last month and had to return two out of three pairs.

題目 4 — "Do you like your neighbourhood?"

Step 1: Yeah, I do — I've been living in Da'an for about four years now. Step 2: What makes it work is the balance of convenience and quietness; everything you need is a short walk away but it doesn't feel chaotic. Step 3: There's a small park right behind my building where I go running most mornings, and a night market just two MRT stops away when I fancy something different.

題目 5 — "Have you travelled abroad recently?"

Step 1: Yes — I went to Japan last autumn. Step 2: It was my first time outside Taiwan since 2019, so I was pretty excited. Step 3: I spent about a week in Kyoto, mostly visiting temples and eating my way through the small restaurants near my guesthouse. The highlight was definitely a Kaiseki dinner my friend treated me to.

  • If I had more time, I'd probably...
  • Honestly, the kind of book I'd pick up would be...
  • I imagine in another life I'd be someone who...

Step 1

"Yes, I like coffee. It wakes me up. And I drink coffee every day."

"Because it's good." "Because I like it."

Try this

  2. Step 3

"Honestly, I'm not a big fan of shopping — I find it draining. I'd rather spend my free time somewhere quiet. In fact, I only went shopping twice last month, and both times I came home empty-handed."
