台灣考生最常問:「我講話停下來改文法會不會扣分?」「如果我為了講流暢就放過文法錯,會不會又扣?」

這是 IELTS Speaking 的永恆兩難。答案是——Band 7 要兩個都要。但兩個都要不是兩個都滿分,而是取得平衡

Band 7 descriptor 的實際要求

來看官方評分標準的文字(Band 7):

Fluency and Coherence (Band 7)

"speaks at length without noticeable effort or loss of coherence" "may demonstrate language-related hesitation at times, or some repetition and/or self-correction"

→ 允許有 hesitationself-correction,但要能延續說話

Grammatical Range and Accuracy (Band 7)

"uses a range of complex structures with some flexibility" "frequently produces error-free sentences, though some grammatical mistakes persist"

→ 允許有 grammatical mistakes,只要 some 句子 error-free 就夠了。

結論:Band 7 不要求完美,要求穩定的中上水準

Fluency 陷阱:為了流暢放棄文法

錯誤心態

"我只要不停下來講話就好,文法對錯反正考官聽不出來。"

實際後果

考官聽得出來。而且 Grammar 的分數會卡在 Band 6。因為:

  • "Yesterday I go to Taipei" — 基本時態錯,Band 5.5
  • "I have been to there last year" — 時態 + 介系詞冗贅,Band 6
  • "I think learning English is very help to my future"help 當名詞用錯,Band 6

這些錯誤不會自己消失——考前一定要把常錯的 3-4 個錯型抓出來修正。

Accuracy 陷阱:為了完美一直停頓

錯誤心態

"我一定要確保每句話文法對才開口。"

實際後果

  • 停頓超過 2-3 秒 = Fluency 往 Band 5 走
  • 過度自我修正("I go... I went... I have gone...")= 聽起來混亂
  • 考官感覺你在「背答案」或「翻譯中文」

考場三條黃金規則

規則 1:小錯不管(move on)

"Yesterday I goes... um, went to the market."

對的做法"Yesterday I went to the market" — 直接講對的,不回頭修。小錯誤考官會略過。

規則 2:大錯要修(self-correct once)

"I've been learned English for 10 years... sorry, I mean I've been learning English for 10 years."

對的做法:自我修正一次就好。Band 7 descriptor 允許 self-correction,但不允許 endless stumbling。修完一次,立刻推進。

規則 3:不會的結構換掉(work around)

如果你試圖用虛擬語氣但卡住——改成直述句。考官不會懲罰你「不用複雜句」,但會懲罰你「試了複雜句卡住 5 秒」。

Original (stuck): "If I had... had been... would have been..." — 3 秒停頓

Workaround: "In that situation, most people would probably choose to..."

四個「撐住 fluency 同時修 accuracy」的句型

句型 1 —— "Actually, let me rephrase that"

優雅地承認「這句有問題」,然後重講。

"I'm going to the Canada next month... actually, let me rephrase that — I'm going to Canada next month."

句型 2 —— "Or rather / or should I say"

用來升級詞彙或修正介系詞。

"I live in a small town... or rather, a small city — maybe 200,000 people."

句型 3 —— "Sorry, what I meant was..."

完整重構一個句子時用。

"I've been to there last year... sorry, what I meant was — I went there last year."

句型 4 —— "How can I put this..."

買時間的同時展示思考深度。

"How can I put this... it's the kind of job where you never really switch off."

Band 7 的「正確錯誤頻率」

根據口說教練的經驗法則(非官方,但實用):

| 頻率 | 等級 | |------|------| | 每 10 句有 0-1 個小錯 | Band 8+ | | 每 10 句有 2-3 個小錯 | Band 7 | | 每 10 句有 4-6 個小錯 | Band 6-6.5 | | 每 10 句有 7+ 個小錯 | Band 5.5 以下 |

小錯 = 時態、冠詞、介系詞、第三人稱單數 s 大錯 = 句子結構崩潰、對方聽不懂

目標:小錯每 10 句 2-3 個(ok),大錯零個

考前一週的取捨訓練

  1. 錄自己答 5 個 Part 1 題目(每題 20 秒)。
  2. 聽回放,用兩個符號標記:

- 紅圈 = 文法錯但沒修 - 黃框 = 停頓超過 2 秒或過度修正

  1. 目標:紅圈 ≤ 3,黃框 ≤ 2(五題合計)。
  2. 哪個符號多,下週就練哪個方向。

台灣考生最大毛病

Over-correction——試圖修正每個小錯,結果整個答題變得支離破碎。

"I go... I went... um... I have been going... sorry... I went to Japan last... last year. It was... it is... it was very fun."

這段 15 秒講不完一個意思,Fluency 會被壓到 Band 5.5。

修正講錯就錯了。移動下一句。考官在乎「整段答題」的印象,不是每個字的對錯。
