Band 7 descriptor 明講:"some repetition and/or self-correction" 是可接受的。換句話說——犯錯不扣分,但慌了才扣分。
考場上最悲慘的情況是:考生講錯一個字,整個腦子當機,卡了 4 秒——然後後面三句都亂講。這不是犯錯導致的——是恢復能力失靈。

Self-correction vs Stumbling 的差別
Self-correction(好的)
- 知道自己講錯
- 短暫承認錯誤
- 講出對的版本
- 繼續向前
Stumbling(不好的)
- 不確定到底錯在哪
- 重複錯誤版本 2-3 次
- 最後放棄或草草結束
- 整段答題毀了
Band 7 接受 self-correction,不接受 stumbling。
4 個恢復句型
句型 1 —— "Sorry, I meant..."
最直接。用於文法、用字、事實性的錯誤。
"I went to Canada when I was 15... sorry, I meant 18."
"She's a teacher... sorry, I meant doctor."
"I have been to Japan last year... sorry, I meant I went to Japan last year."
規則:只修一次。修完立刻講下一句,不要糾結。
句型 2 —— "Let me rephrase that"
適合整個句子結構有問題,不只是一個字錯。
"If I would have known... let me rephrase that — if I had known about the opportunity, I would have applied."
"The problem with teachers who they don't... let me rephrase — teachers who don't prepare well often struggle with student engagement."
句型 3 —— "Or rather / or should I say"
用來升級你剛講的字,或替換成更精準的表達。
"I live in a small town... or rather, a small city — maybe 200,000 people."
"My job is tiring... or should I say, exhausting — I work 60 hours a week."
這個句型的隱形好處——讓考官看到你有更精準的詞彙,但剛剛忍住沒用。Lexical Resource 直接加分。
句型 4 —— "What I'm trying to say is..."
當你講了一長串但發現沒講清楚,用這句話 reset 並重新組織。
"Well, it's like... the weather affects... you know, sometimes the mood depends on... what I'm trying to say is, overcast days tend to make me less productive."
效果:這句話告訴考官「我意識到前面講得不清楚,讓我重新講」。比尷尬地重複更有控制感。

考場上最常見的恐慌——講到一半忘了一個關鍵字。

對的做法
策略 1:Describe instead of name(描述代替命名)
Forgot microscope: "...you know, that thing scientists use to look at very small things."
Forgot mortgage: "...the loan you take out to buy a house."
Forgot cousin: "...my aunt's son."
考官看到你用描述繞過去,反而加分(展示 Lexical Resource 的靈活度)。
策略 2:General placeholder words
"There's this... thing / situation / concept where..."
"It's a kind of... arrangement / device / practice..."
用 general word 撐住句子,繼續推進。
策略 3:Admit and move on
"I can't think of the exact word — but it's similar to..."
誠實但不恐慌。比假裝更好。
大腦當機怎麼辦?
Part 2 cue card 時間到、但你腦袋一片空白——這是極端狀況。
1 秒自救法
深吸一口氣,用這一句買時間:
"That's an interesting question — let me think for a second."
"Hmm, I haven't thought about this in a while, but..."
"This is actually a tricky one to answer..."
這些開場完全合法,不會扣分。但只能用一次——第二次考官就會覺得你在背公式。
台灣考生的 3 個典型反應錯誤
錯誤 1:用中文頓詞
"I went to... 嗯... the supermarket..."
中文「嗯」會瞬間把你拉到 Band 5。用英文 filler:um, er, uh, well, you know, like。
錯誤 2:道歉過度
"Sorry, sorry, I made a mistake, sorry..."
一次 sorry 夠了。第二次讓你看起來不自信。
錯誤 3:回頭重講整句
Student version (wrong): "Yesterday I go to... Yesterday I go to... Yesterday I went to the shop."
從第一個錯誤字修回來就好,不要從頭講。
Right: "Yesterday I go... went to the shop."
