Part 2 抽到 "Describe a statue you've seen / a famous scientist you admire / a traditional dance from your country"——如果你真的不知道，三條生路：編、偏轉、重新定義。

策略 1 — 編（Invent）

IELTS 沒有事實查核。你可以虛構。考官要的是語言，不是真相。

Cue card: Describe a famous scientist from your country.

如果你不知道: pick a plausible name (even a mix: "Dr. Lin Chen") and invent a story — "She was born in southern Taiwan in the 1960s, and she did pioneering research into semiconductor materials..."

注意

  • 名字要可信（中文姓 + 一個合理的名、或直接一個 generic English name）
  • 不要給可查的細節（別給確切年份、獎項名稱——可能被發現）
  • 用 hedge："If I remember correctly..." / "I think she was around..."

策略 2 — 偏轉（Redirect）

把題目偏向你會的方向。

Cue card: Describe a statue you've seen.

Don't know any famous statues? Pivot:

  • "Well, the one that comes to mind isn't particularly famous — there's a small statue outside my old primary school of a teacher reading to a child..."
  • "Actually, I'd like to talk about a Buddha statue at my grandmother's home temple — it's not a landmark, but it's the one I remember most..."

關鍵句型：

  • "The one that comes to mind is actually..."
  • "It's not particularly famous, but..."
  • "I'd like to talk about something a bit different — ..."

策略 3 — 重新定義（Reframe）

Cue card: Describe a traditional dance from your country.

沒概念？ Reframe it:

  • "Honestly, I'm not a dance person, so I'll talk about a traditional performance I've seen — the lion dance during Lunar New Year..."
  • "I don't know much about formal dances, but in Taiwan we have the temple processions with 八家將, which is sort of a ritual dance..."

關鍵：保留題目的 spirit（傳統、表演），換成你會的內容。考官不會打斷。

三個萬用 redirect 起手式

  1. "Hmm, that's not something I'd normally talk about, but let me try..."
  2. "The one that first comes to mind is..."
  3. "Honestly, I don't have much direct experience with X, but I've always been interested in Y, which is similar..."

記住：一切都還在給分

抽到陌生題不會被扣分。扣分的是——

  • 沉默 30 秒
  • 說 "I don't know this" 然後停
  • 要求考官換題（不會換）

講什麼都比不講好。

練習時刻意挑最陌生的 cue card（describe a law in your country / a piece of equipment at work），強迫自己 2 分鐘內用三個策略中的一個撐完。練 5 題就不怕了。

台灣考生的典型陷阱

台灣考生最怕「誠實」害死自己——老實說 "I don't know anything about statues, I have never seen one." 然後投降。IELTS 不是誠實測驗。是語言測驗。
